Art On Center is a new art center located in the Sargent’s Enterprise Building, (the former Jim Thorpe Junior High School) at 410 Center Avenue in Jim Thorpe, PA. The Center showcases and sells the work of local artists. It is located in an historic building on Center Avenue that in the 1930’s was the High School for the residents of the town of Old Mauch Chuck, and then later became the Junior High School for the town of the newly incorporated (1955), Jim Thorpe.

The primary goal of the Art On Center is to support and promote local artists by providing them studio space with a platform to showcase their work and to generate sales. The Center will also serve as a destination for residents and tourists seeking unique local original art and classes provided by the artists.

The founder of the Art On Center, Helen Hartmann, has extensive experience in the art industry as a graphic designer and has recently retired from a long career in New York City Transit Authority as a graphic designer. She has a passion for supporting local artists. Having done market research she determined that Jim Thorpe and the surrounding communities needed a space that exclusively highlights local talent.
